As part of the Nights team, this role ensures the estate's public areas, event spaces, and guest services remain fully aligned with operational and safety standards. With a focus on responsiveness, attention to detail, and a steady presence throughout the night, the Night Porter contributes to a secure, well-presented environment that upholds the estate's service expectations around the clock.Key ResponsibilitiesExecute the setup and breakdown of conference rooms, private dining spaces, weddings, and meeting areas according to established layouts.Coordinate with the Night Manager to ensure all setups meet daily requirements and handover notes from the Conference & Banqueting team are actioned.Provide efficient overnight room service and support late-night guest requests.Handle luggage assistance for arrivals and departures, including groups.Promote estate facilities, services, and offerings when interacting with guests.Address guest queries and manage telephone calls in the Night Manager's absence.Maintain cleanliness and presentation across all public areas, ensuring readiness for the next day's operation.Report any maintenance, safety, or operational issues directly to the Night Manager.Conduct scheduled security inspections and fire walks throughout the property.Ensure all external access points are secure overnight.Maintain compliance with safety regulations, emergency procedures, and estate protocols.Collaborate effectively with Night Management and other departments to maintain operational flow.Contribute to communication forums including departmental meetings and town halls.This job description is not intended to be either prescriptive or exhaustive, it is issued as a framework to outline main areas of responsibility at the time of writing.Required Experience & SkillsMinimum 1 year of experience in a hospitality role, ideally within porter or accommodations operations.Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage varied responsibilities overnight.Confident communicator with a calm, guest-focused approach.Commitment to operational standards, safety protocols, and continuous improvement.Eligibility to work in Ireland.The Grace Westport Estate is an equal opportunity employer.
