Staff Digital CAD Support Engineer – Research & Development
Your Role
Key responsibilities in your new role
Support European R&D teams with their day‑to‑day challenges in the IC development environment, on EDA tools, digital design and verification methodology and IT infrastructure
Implement project‑specific solutions such as workarounds and bug fixes and escalates complex issues to second‑level support or collaborate with EDA vendors where needed
Act as the link between CAD, IT and R&D engineers, promote new methodologies in IP design and verification projects and drive methodology teams to implement improvements
Proactively engage with design and verification projects to ensure effective use of design methodologies, EDA tools and compute farm resources
Share your knowledge and collaborate closely with the global CAD support community to align on best practices and common solutions
Qualifications And Skills
A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar field of study
3 to 5 years of experience in the semiconductor industry
Strong expertise in digital EDA tools from industry standard vendors like Cadence, Synopsys and Siemens
Knowledge of hardware description and modelling languages such as System Verilog or Verilog‑A
Experience with emulation platforms like Palladium, ZeBu or Veloce
Expertise using Unix/Linux and load sharing in Compute Farm environments (e.g., IBM Spectrum LSF) and Data Management (e.g., Perforce, Git)
Scripting skills in Python, Perl or TCL
Previous experience in a digital design or digital functional verification engineering role is a big plus
Fluency in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
