Role context
We’re recruiting for a Data Systems MI Analyst to join our Finance and Actuarial Operations team. The role suits someone with a strong technical/analytical data background who focuses on developing and maintaining systems to access, analyse and interpret business data to develop insights and support decision making.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain financial data structures and systems to ensure accurate data collection and analysis.
Monitor data quality and integrity; implement controls and processes to mitigate risks.
Manage financial software systems, ensuring they are optimised for performance and user needs.
Lead system upgrades and integrations, collaborating with IT and external vendors.
Design and support production of regular management reports, dashboards, and presentations with actionable insights into financial performance.
Develop tools to analyse trends and variances, providing explanations and recommendations to senior management.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations, risk framework, internal policies and best practices in data management and reporting.
Promote a continuous performance improvement culture, encouraging innovation and growth.
Engage effectively with stakeholders on impact, timescales and customer outcomes.
Apply and assimilate external insights to ensure strategic and operational priorities are appropriate.
Ensure output is high quality and fit-for-end-user needs and can be extended with input from others.
Communicate complex information clearly to a wide group of senior stakeholders amidst ongoing change.
Manage change to ensure improvements are customer driven and aligned with corporate and divisional strategies.
Continuously develop knowledge and skills; embrace new tools and best practice; provide advice and support for colleagues in the team.
Qualifications / Key Skills
Strong technical/analytical data background with experience in financial data systems
Experience in data quality controls and data governance
Proficient in managing financial software systems and data reporting
Experience leading system upgrades and integrations with IT and external vendors
Ability to design and produce management reports and dashboards
Ability to analyse trends/variances and provide actionable recommendations
Knowledge of financial regulations and internal policies related to data management and reporting
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Adaptability and continuous learning mindset
