As a key player in the medical devices sector, we are seeking an accomplished Health and Safety Specialist to join our client's growing team in Waterford City.
Responsibilities:
* Conduct thorough risk assessments and safety evaluations across site operations
* Support the health and safety team in managing new projects and initiatives
* Provide expert guidance on national and EU safety legislation, machinery standards, and best practices
* Offer input for change management processes, including equipment modifications and updates
* Design and implement corporate safety systems, focusing on process safety management and industrial hygiene
* Develop and implement occupational health programs and lead incident investigations
* Participate in security protocol development and implementation, as well as pre-start-up safety reviews and internal/external auditing
* Assist with safe system of work development and deliver relevant health and safety training
The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Automation, Electrical, or Process Engineering, along with a Level 6 Certificate in Health & Safety or equivalent experience. A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in GMP production environments, preferably in the medical, pharma, or technology sector, is required. Excellent analytical and communication skills, as well as proficiency in MS Office and technical software, are essential.
