Contract Type: Permanent Full Time
Contract Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary Scale: €97,978 to €115,166 pro rata per annum (subject to Long Service Increments and future adjustments).
Annual Leave Entitlement: 34 days pro rata per annum, proportionately less for less than 12 months service.
Overview of the Post
The role is based in CHO7 CDNT 7 Tymon within the Children’s Disability Network Teams (CDNT) under the national Progressing Disabilities Services (PDS) model. The successful candidate will provide a range of psychology services—to young people (0–18 years) and their families—within an interdisciplinary framework, including assessment, intervention, clinical supervision and ongoing service development. Service is delivered through a family‑centred approach across settings: clinic, preschools, schools, children’s homes and community settings.
Responsibilities
Provide assessment and intervention services for children and young people with complex needs arising from a disability.
Deliver clinical supervision and ongoing service development.
Work in an interdisciplinary team within various settings (clinic, schools, homes, community).
Essential Criteria
University degree or diploma (QQ1 level 8) in Psychology with 1st or 2nd class honours.
Irish post‑graduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical, Counselling or Educational Psychology, or an equivalent qualification validated by the Department of Health.
Demonstrate competence in the care group/s applied for.
At least five years of satisfactory post‑graduate experience in professional psychology; no more than three years spent in gaining the postgraduate qualification, and at least two years full‑time post‑qualification experience.
For clinical or counselling psychologists: at least 60 days supervised clinical placement or post‑qualification supervised work experience in Disability (Child and Adult), Child Psychology or Adult Psychology.
For educational psychologists: at least 60 days supervised clinical placement or post‑qualification supervised work experience in Child Disability or Child Psychology.
Member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or British Psychological Society (BPS).
Current eligibility to work in the State.
Valid driving licence and access to own transport for geographic coverage.
Desirable Criteria
Previous senior post experience.
Experience working in an interdisciplinary team.
Skills and competencies with assessment and intervention for mental health needs in children with disabilities.
Experience working with children aged birth to 18 years and families, including physical disability, autism and learning disability.
Experience and qualification in completing diagnostic work‑ups (e.g., ASD, Developmental Delay, Intellectual Disability).
