Assistant Accountant
Here at Osborne, we are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant, on behalf of one of our clients, a well-established and growing building materials supplier based in Rathcoole, Co. Dublin.
This is a fully on-site role, reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller. It's an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified accountant or someone currently pursuing a professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA) to grow within a supportive and fast-paced environment.
You'll play a vital part in delivering accurate financial reporting and supporting key finance functions, including management accounts, VAT returns, reconciliations, and payroll support.
Location: Rathcoole, Co. Dublin (Fully On-Site)
Reports To: Group Financial Controller
Salary: €40,000 – €45,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, budgets, and variance analysis.
Perform bank reconciliations across all group accounts.
Prepare and submit VAT, Intrastat, VIES, and CSO returns (Ireland & UK).
Maintain the company's Fixed Asset Register.
Reconcile monthly ID facility and assist with quarterly audits.
Support the Hire and Training departments with financial data and insights.
Process credit card and office expense claims.
Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Assist with year-end audit preparations.
Support payroll, credit control, and purchase ledger functions as required.
Contribute to finance system enhancements and ad-hoc projects.
Qualifications & Experience:
2–3 years' experience in a similar finance or accounting role is required.
ATI qualified / Part Qualified/ Working towards a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, etc.)
Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines.
Familiarity with SAGE 200 or equivalent finance systems.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
A positive attitude and a desire to grow within a high-performing finance team.
