Our client, a leader in high-quality design and manufacturing for the pharmaceutical, chemical, and food & beverage industries, is looking for a Design Lead to help manage their team in the Cork Area.
Job Description:
As the Design Lead, you will play a critical role in overseeing and managing the design process for tanks and pressure vessels from concept to completion. You will lead a team of designers and engineers to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions that align with client requirements and industry standards. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for driving design excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the design team in creating innovative and efficient solutions for tanks and pressure vessels and reactors.
* Oversee the development of 3D models, detailed drawings, and technical documentation using CAD software (e.g., Inventor, AutoCAD).
* Collaborate with clients to understand project requirements and ensure designs meet specifications.
* Manage project timelines and ensure on-time delivery of design milestones.
* Coordinate with manufacturing, procurement, and quality teams to ensure seamless integration of designs into production.
* Mentor and train junior engineers and designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards in all designs.
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related field.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in a design or engineering role, with at least 2 years in a leadership position.
* Experience in a fabrication environment, tanks, pressure vessels, or reactors is an asset.
* Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor.
* Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and fabrication principles.
* Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills.
* Proven ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve project goals.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and cross-functional teams.
* Experience in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry is a plus.
