Job Description
Are you passionate about improving the environmental performance of infrastructure development projects and helping Ireland to deliver its net zero commitments? If so, we’d love to hear from you at AECOM.
Join our Impact Assessment team which comprises over 170 staff across Ireland and the UK. This national team is flexible in terms of office location – offices in Dublin, Cork and Galway, plus a hybrid working model.
As an environmental consultant you will manage environmental inputs to large‑scale development projects such as energy generation, distribution and transmission, highway improvements, carbon capture pipelines, rail projects, regeneration projects, and developments across e‑commerce, minerals, waste, water, defence, aviation, commercial, residential and industrial sectors.
Responsibilities

Provide Expertise: Manage environmental inputs to EIA Screening and Scoping reports, EA reports, ECRs and supporting documents, including the technical review of specialist chapters, across all project life stages from strategy to operation.
Ensure Quality: Deliver high‑quality deliverables in compliance with AECOM’s rigorous quality management procedures.
Project Management: Use project management skills to manage resources and budgets.
Collaborate: Work as part of integrated design teams to improve environmental outcomes, identifying constraints, mitigation solutions and benefit opportunities.
Client Contact: Manage client relationships and internal supply teams.
Growth: Promote AECOM’s environmental services internally and externally, and lead business development opportunities and fee and technical proposals.

Qualifications

A degree in an environmental discipline (preferably a Masters) and a relevant professional membership (Chartered Environmentalists preferred).
Comprehensive EIA consultancy experience with proven skills in preparing environmental reports and reviewing specialist chapters.
Detailed understanding of Irish consenting regimes and environmental legislation.
Ability to lead technical teams, coordinate specialist inputs and provide bespoke advice to clients.
Project management skills, including programming, staff resource and budget management.
Commitment to innovation and professional development.
Interest in line‑management duties and staff mentoring.
Developing skills in leading business development opportunities.
Efficient verbal and report‑writing skills, including technical review and stakeholder engagement.
