We are seeking a seasoned Deputy Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional customer service and driving the smooth operation of our shop. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for leading a dedicated and hardworking team, focusing on operational excellence while supporting the Store Manager in all aspects of store performance.
Job Responsibilities
* Lead and motivate your team to consistently deliver outstanding customer service and maintain high operational standards across all areas of the shop.
* Represent the values and ethos of the company, acting as a role model for your team and actively promoting a culture that reflects the brand's identity and mission.
* Take ownership of the shop's day-to-day operations, managing workflows, assigning tasks, and ensuring procedures are followed efficiently from opening to closing.
* Assist in the implementation of business strategies by managing stock levels, overseeing budgets, and analyzing profit and loss performance to help meet business targets.
* E nsure full compliance with all health and safety regulations, including HACCP protocols, as well as adherence to relevant legal and company policies.
* Monitor and assess both individual and team performance, offering regular feedback, coaching, and training to encourage growth and maintain high service standards.
* Plan and coordinate staff rosters, ensuring adequate shift coverage and optimizing team scheduling for operational efficiency.
* Maintain strong and open communication with team members and senior management, fostering a supportive and collaborative workplace atmosphere.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* A minimum of 5 years' experience in a supervisory or management role, leading teams of 10 or more people in a retail or customer-facing environment.
* Proven leadership skills with the confidence to guide and inspire others to consistently perform at their best.
* Strong commercial awareness, with a successful background in driving performance and operational improvements within a shop setting.
* Experience in staff rota planning, task delegation, and general team management to support the flow of daily operations.
* Exceptional team-building abilities and a commitment to delivering a superior customer experience through teamwork and individual excellence.
* Capable of making sound, independent decisions in a fast-paced environment while remaining calm under pressure.
* Familiarity with reading, understanding, and creating planograms to support merchandising and stock placement.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
