Serum Formulation Scientist - (Job Ref: 26N/SMFS)
Randox Laboratories seeks a Serum Formulation Scientist to join the Serum Formulation Team.
Location
Randox Science Park (30 Randalstown Road, Antrim, BT41 4LF).
Contract Offered
Full‑time, Permanent.
Working Hours / Shifts
40 hours per week: 7 am to 5 pm, 8 am to 6 pm, or occasionally 6 pm to 6 am (4 shifts per week).
What does this role involve?
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and machinery.
Perform scientific calculations in various units for control manufacture and verify the results.
Review quality control test data and adjust calculations as required.
Ensure raw materials are in stock using the Sage stock control system.
Collaborate with R&D to develop new products.
Analyze functional test data.
Provide technical support queries.
Assist with introduction of new equipment and processes as part of continual improvement.
Meet formulation schedules and deadlines.
Complete accurate formulation records and filter control materials.
Maintain a clean, organized, audit‑ready laboratory environment.
Essential criteria
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a life science subject.
Excellent organisational skills with an eye for detail and the ability to prioritise work.
Ability to operate different types of equipment and analytical instrumentation reliably.
Strong numerical skills for a range of scientific calculations.
Eligibility to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.
Flexible start and finish times when required by the formulation schedule.
Availability for occasional night shifts.
Desirable
Previous experience in a manufacturing or laboratory environment.
Working knowledge of Health and Safety, including CoSHH.
Experience using a stock control system such as Sage.
Full UK driving licence.
