Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Dublin. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing cost estimates, tender documents, and contracts, as well as performing material take-offs and managing subcontractor works.
About the Role
The Mechanical Quantity Surveyor will be a key member of our commercial team, working closely with project managers, site engineers, and clients to ensure that measurements, variations, and contractual matters are properly recorded and notified.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare cost estimates for all project phases, including preparation of tender documents, contracts, drawings, BoQ, specifications, budgets, and maintaining accurate records.
* Perform material take-offs prior to purchase requisitions for projects and report any irregularities or discrepancies to project management.
* Implement post-contract duties, including measurements, final accounts, and evaluation reports, as well as preparation of payment applications and agreements with clients.
* Work closely with project teams to ensure that measurements, variations, and contractual matters are properly recorded and notified.
* Manage, examine, control, and evaluate subcontractor works, claims, variations, invoices, and ensure contractual obligations are satisfied.
* Evaluate quotations obtained from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring quantities and specifications align with tender and project specifications.
* Provide detailed backup to support commercial tracking and costing.
* Conduct meetings with clients, site managers, project managers, and site engineers to discuss project progress and requirements.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
* Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying or Mechanical Engineering.
* 1-3+ years of quantity surveying/mechanical engineering experience.
* Technical and practical knowledge of contract development, award, administration, and close-out relating to multi-discipline civil/construction projects.
* Capability to accept responsibilities and accomplish project objectives in a timely manner.
* Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
* Good communication skills and strong English capability.
