Management Accountant
The Opportunity
As a Management Accountant, you will form part of the in‑house Finance team across a broad range of accounting and reporting activities in a fast‑paced renewable energy environment. This role will be focused on the Commercial business unit within the organisation and suit someone who enjoys ownership of tasks, working cross‑functionally, and contributing to continuous improvement within an evolving business.
Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain accurate accounting records and working papers in line with company procedures and accounting standards.
Preparation of monthly management accounts, including journals, accruals, and prepayments.
Analyse project performance and variances against budget and highlight trends.
Act as a finance business partner to the Sales and Commercial teams; be comfortable analysing project contracts to identify risks, cash‑flow implications, pricing models, service levels, and performance obligations.
Lead and support budget and forecasting processes.
Prepare and submit VAT, VAT RTD, RCT and CIS returns in a timely and compliant manner.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support financial decision‑making.
Ensure financial data integrity across accounting systems and support system improvements where required.
Adhere to, and help develop, internal financial controls, policies, and procedures.
Undertake ad‑hoc finance and reporting tasks as required to support the growing business.
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar accounting or finance role, within an in‑house or industry environment.
Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
Experience/knowledge of multi‑country EU tax is advantageous.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to prepare management accounts for reporting purposes together with cost analysis back‑up.
Self‑motivated with the ability to manage workload independently and take ownership of tasks.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills.
Experience with Sage Accounts, Intact IQ, and Salesforce is advantageous.
Office‑based role so must live within a commutable distance of our HQ in Carrickmacross.
