The Medical Sectretary will provide administrative and clerical support to the Consultant they are allocated to. The post holder's role is to ensure the effective delivery of services to patients attending the Consultant's Rooms at St. Vincent's Consultant's Private Clinic and patients under the care of the Consultant. The role is responsible for the provision of quality administrative service in line with the highest professional practice for the assigned Consultant. This role is 35 hours per week and requires flexibility as the days change depending on the requirement of the Consultant's Private Clinic. This post holder will be working 4 day weeks (28 hours per week).Background and Experience:3-5 years experience as a Medical Secretary in a healthcare settingExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsExperience with audio dictationStrong planning and organisational skillsGood level of flexibility and adaptabilityProficient IT skillsKey ResponsibilitiesThe key roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:Day to day management of making appointments including Consultant's daily work scheduleManaging patient clinics ensuring that all patient results are availableResponsible for incoming and outgoing mail, phone calls and emailsDictation typing of letters and discharge summariesPatient care when Consultant is absentLiaising with other medical doctors in Consultant's absenceResponsible for payments from patients including visa/cash transactionsMaintaining patient confidentiality in all aspects of patient care
