In partnership with our client, a leading engineering company based in Co. Cavan, Glantech staffing are seeking applications for the position on financial controller.
This is an office-based leadership role in Cavan, ideal for an ambitious finance professional seeking progression into a Group-level role in the future.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leadership: Manage and develop the finance department to deliver consistently high performance and output.
* Reporting Excellence: Oversee the preparation of accurate, timely, and insightful management accounts, statutory accounts, and financial reports for senior stakeholders.
* Cash Flow Management: Support the Credit Manager to ensure strong cash collections and robust cash flow forecasting.
* Strategic Planning: Play a key role in the budgeting, forecasting, and business planning processes, ensuring alignment with the company’s growth objectives.
* Compliance & Governance: Ensure adherence to all tax, audit, and statutory obligations, liaising with external auditors and advisors.
* Process Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements to financial systems, controls, and reporting to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Candidate Requirements:
* Recognised professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
* Several years’ post-qualification industrial experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial services setting.
* Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong experience with accounting systems.
* Salesforce experience is a significant advantage.
* Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and present at senior and board level.
* Strong knowledge of the regulatory environment, tax compliance, and audit processes.
* A commercially aware finance professional who understands the bigger business picture.
* Currently a No. 2 in a larger company or a No. 1 in a smaller business ready to step up to a more senior role.
* Confident, assertive, and influential—able to challenge constructively and work collaboratively across departments.
* Brings a broad skill set beyond core finance, with the ability to contribute to operational decision-making.
