We are seeking a qualified Toolmaker for a long-established North Kerry based manufacturing client.
As a Toolmaker, you will be responsible for the following - Responsibilities: Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD data, and technical specifications.
Operate manual and CNC machines (e.g., lathes, milling machines, grinders, EDM) to produce tooling components.
Assemble, test, and modify tools and dies to meet design requirements and tolerances.
Carry out preventative maintenance and repairs on existing tooling.
Collaborate with design engineers and production staff to resolve tooling issues and improve tool performance.
Ensure all work meets quality and safety standards.
Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to tooling and manufacturing efficiency.
Skills, Competencies and Education: Proficient in reading technical drawings and using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, vernier calipers).
Skilled in machining processes including turning, milling, grinding, and fitting.
Knowledge of CNC programming Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Toolmaking or Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 35 years of experience in a toolmaking environment.
Experience in injection moulding, press tooling, or die casting tools.
Familiarity with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mastercam).
Competitive salary with overtime and 24.50 days holidays is on offer.
Working hours: Monday to Friday 08:30 am to 16:30 pm.
