EHS Advisor Electrical Contractor Limerick Salary €55K – €75K DOE
Role Purpose
As an EHS Advisor, you’ll champion a culture of safety and environmental excellence across our projects. Working closely with project teams, you’ll implement and maintain effective EHS management systems, ensuring every site operates safely, responsibly, and in full compliance.
You’ll provide hands‑on support and leadership to Project Managers, Supervisors, and site teams, driving best practice and continuous improvement in all EHS matters. Reporting to the EHS Manager, this role offers variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to make a real impact, whether stationed full‑time on a project or supporting multiple sites.
EHS Advisor Responsibilities
* Provide advice, guidance, and training to management, employees, and subcontractors on all EHS matters.
* Lead by example and maintain a proactive approach to site safety and environmental standards.
* Conduct EHS inductions for all new personnel and visitors to site, ensuring understanding of site rules and procedures.
* Carry out regular site audits and inspections, developing and following up on corrective and preventive action plans.
* Ensure all incidents are reported, investigated, and closed out with clear root cause analysis and actions.
* Support the preparation, review, and maintenance of project‑specific EHS Plans, Risk Assessments, and Method Statements (RAMS).
* Monitor EHS performance through data, KPIs, and trend reporting, recommending improvements where needed.
* Review contractor competence and ensure compliance with legislation, client, and company requirements.
* Provide or arrange training as required and maintain accurate training records.
* Attend coordination and safety meetings, promoting a positive EHS culture.
* Manage and monitor PPE usage, first aid arrangements, and site safety documentation.
* Report regularly to the EHS Manager, Project Manager, and Site Management on EHS performance and issues.
Requirements
1. Minimum 2 years’ site experience (electrical background an advantage).
2. NFQ Level 8 Diploma/Degree in Occupational H&S and NFQ Level 6 Certificate in Environmental Management.
3. Valid Safe Pass, Train the Trainer, and First Aid certifications.
4. Knowledge of Construction Regulations, CDM roles, and experience with subcontractors.
5. Familiar with EHS Management Systems and safety standards (ISO, Achilles, SSiPs).
6. Strong communication, report writing, and presentation skills.
7. Able to work collaboratively with project and safety teams and meet tight deadlines.
8. Skilled in auditing, incident investigation, and root cause analysis.
9. Up to date with current legislation and compliance standards.
10. IOSH membership or equivalent preferred.
