As part of our continued growth, we're now looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our finance team.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts Payable & Receivable
* Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner
* Match purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoices for approval
* Ensure all supplier statements are regularly reconciled
* Prepare payment runs and liaise with suppliers regarding payment queries
* Raise and issue sales invoices for events, corporate bookings, and other revenue streams
* Chase outstanding debt in line with the hotel's credit control procedures
Bank & Cash Reconciliations
* Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations
* Reconcile petty cash, credit card, and cash float transactions
* Monitor and reconcile POS and front office system cash reports
Month-End Support
* Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports
* Post monthly journals including accruals, prepayments, and payroll journals
* Support the Financial Controller with budget tracking and variance analysis
Reporting & Compliance
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in line with GDPR and audit requirements
* Assist with internal and external audits, providing required documentation and responses
* Ensure compliance with hotel financial policies and procedures
Other Duties
* Support payroll processing and timesheet reconciliation
* Liaise with other departments regarding financial queries
* Assist with ad hoc projects and reporting as required by the Financial Controller
Essential Criteria
* Minimum 1–2 years' experience in a similar finance or accounts role
* Strong understanding of accounts payable, receivable, and bank reconciliation processes
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
* Experience using accounting software (e.g., Sage, Opera, or similar)
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* High level of confidentiality and professionalism
* Eligible to work in Ireland
Desirable Criteria
* Previous experience in the hospitality, hotel, or leisure industry
* Working knowledge of Opera, Protel, or similar property management systems (PMS)
* Experience supporting payroll preparation
* Studying towards or holding a relevant accounting qualification (e.g., IATI, ACCA, CIMA)
* Familiarity with budgeting and financial reporting in a commercial environment
