The Role:

The Corporate Affairs Directorate has a clear purpose: To strengthen Uisce Éireann's reputation and be a trusted advisor and practitioner to ensure that Uisce Éireann achieves its Corporate Strategy and Business outcomes. Our approach is to ensure we provide integrated strategic communications advice and solutions to the business and ensure we focus our communications effort on the right target audiences and channels with clearly defined measurables and outcomes.

The Corporate Affairs Directorate has a diverse mix of skillsets and responsibilities including brand strategy, market research and insights, marketing and digital marketing (websites and social media strategy), corporate affairs, public relations, crisis management, project communications, stakeholder communications, public affairs, sponsorships, media relations and internal communications.

The Communications Advisor will support the Communications team to deliver the overall objectives of the directorate by playing key roles across the team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

* Provide advice to internal stakeholders on communication issues
* Support relevant Communications Specialist/Lead to deliver legally compliant integrated 360 degree communications on behalf of the Corporate Affairs Team directed by evolving business need and as defined and agreed in employees workplan.
* Deliver communications requirements to support the successful delivery of strategic projects as required across the Communications Directorate
* Build and maintain critical internal and external relationships to provide advice, guidance and support on communications on behalf of Uisce Éireann
* Collaboration with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business including but not limited to;
* People & Safety
* Stakeholder & Corporate Communications
* Brand Marketing & Digital
* Media & Project Communications
* Asset Management & Sustainability,
* All other directorates as required
* Develop a channels and editorial strategy to bring to life Uisce Éireann's vision, purpose and strategy and those of its business units and integrate and coordinate content across other communication channels
* Support the development of lean, efficient and timely editorial strategies, policies and processes; streamline and automate publishing, and drive site optimisation
* Source, write, edit and publish highly engaging content for internal communication channels including the intranet, employee magazine, and ezines on a daily/weekly basis; aligning messaging in support of our vision, purpose and strategy and business strategies and across programmes and initiatives
* Develop and deliver audio/visual content in support of our content strategy
* Manage / coordinate day to day online intranet / SharePoint publishing, creation of new pages, editing of existing SharePoint pages, page design, photography and photo-editing
* Manage a SharePoint backend and deliver basic site analytics
* Through close collaboration across Corporate Affairs, implement and follow demand and capacity management and relevant process and documented governance for the delivery of the prioritised portfolio of Corporate Affairs work.
* Escalate issues and challenges to the Communication Specialist or relevant business owners if required
* Promote and deliver on health and safety commitments objectives and requirements across Uisce Eireann and its supply chain, and report and input into Enterprise Risk Management processes in place in Uisce Éireann as required
* Work cross functionally on projects or tasks as directed by the Senior Management team when required
* Some travel within Ireland and out of hours attendance at events may be required for this role
* Perform other duties as required.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

* Collaboration with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business
* Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards.
* Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives.
* Conducts duties and responsibilities in accordance with Uisce Éireann's Information Security policies, standards, processes and controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of UÉ business information, and delivery of critical services, in accordance with the NIS Directive and any other relevant cybersecurity regulation.
* Other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

* Demonstrable experience working across integrated communications teams in a range of disciplines
* Relevant third level qualification and or accreditation is desirable
* A minimum of 3 years' Experience in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable
* Experience managing a team, with strong people, change management and conflict resolution skills
* Ability to develop and maintain effective partnerships with key stakeholders internally and externally
* Proven track record with dealing with complex issues, proactively and in a timely fashion along with the ability to communicate information to others
* Highly motivated individual, working to the highest professional standards and with proven ability to deliver results within a team.
* Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and analyse problems and potential improvements, and propose and implement solutions
* Demonstrate adaptability and the ability to change focus and direction in line with business strategy and requirements
* Proactively identifying new areas of improvement and using newly gained knowledge and skill on the job.
