Project Engineer (Mechanical) - Cork
Qualifications and Experience
1. At least 4 years of engineering experience in a Bio/Pharmaceutical GMP environment, with preferable experience in GMP change control systems (Trackwise or Veeva QMS).
2. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
3. Experience with current cGMP requirements in an FDA/HPRA approved facility.
4. Proficiency in PC and software, including Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
5. Strong record-keeping, data analysis, attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation skills.
6. Self-starter capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Role and Responsibilities
The Project Engineer reports to the Capital Projects Manager and supports project planning and organization to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and meet performance criteria.
Key duties include:
1. Coordinate and participate in design, construction, and commissioning & qualification (C&Q) activities on site.
2. Lead projects related to facility modifications and capital equipment procurement.
3. Assist in project planning, tracking, and stakeholder communication.
4. Provide technical process support throughout the project lifecycle.
5. Generate and execute commissioning and qualification activities as needed.
6. Review vendor turnover documentation.
7. Assist in contract setup with legal representatives.
8. Contribute to the setup of project programs.
9. Supervise vendor engineers and contractors during engineering works.
10. Utilize permit-to-work or other safety systems to control engineering activities.
11. Manage capital and cost-benefit analyses.
12. Participate in HAZOP and design reviews.
13. Prepare and review project engineering deliverables such as technical specifications, procurement submittals, and handover documentation.
