The Land Development Agency (LDA) is a commercial, semi-State body that seeks to maximise the supply of affordable homes on public and other land in a financially sustainable manner, supporting the creation of thriving communities and delivering ongoing positive social impact.
It is overseen by an independent board of directors and is funded with €5 billion of equity capital committed by the Government.
It is also permitted to borrow up to €1.25bn
The LDA has commenced construction on a number of projects on State land and has a delivery pipeline in excess of 17,000 homes.
It also works in partnership with the country's largest and most experienced homebuilders and will deliver a further 8,000 homes under the Government's Project Tosaigh initiative.
Additionally, the LDA is working on large-scale longer-term strategic areas by master-planning and bringing forward planning applications in locations such as Limerick Colbert Quarter, the Digital Hub in Dublin and Sandy Road in Galway.
Summary
Reporting to the Sustainability Lead in our Chief of Staff function, this is a newly created role that offers an exciting opportunity for a candidate with a background in Finance and Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) reporting to be at the forefront of developing sustainable solutions for the housing and climate challenges at scale and pace.
The role will primarily focus on establishing processes for gathering, analysing, interpreting and presenting diverse data & metrics from across the LDA to support the ESG reporting function and strategic decision making.
Some key metrics will be subject to assurance, so an understanding of audit processes is essential.
The LDA's ambition is to be best in class in terms of ESG reporting and transparency and communicating our ambition and our progress clearly to a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders is key to achieving this goal.
The ideal candidate will be proficient in process development, focused on ensuring data integrity and have a robust understanding of industry best practice in ESG reporting.
They will be adept at collating discrete qualitative and quantitative data and synthesising it into accessible but robust metrics and messaging to ensure we communicate with the public and engage with our stakeholders in a meaningful way.
The successful candidate will be part of the Sustainability Team and will work closely with diverse teams in areas including Project Development, Strategic Land Planning & Acquisition, Construction, Asset Management, Finance, Investment and Risk Management as well as the LDA auditors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate with all business units within the Agency to understand their business processes and associated data which relates to the ESG reporting function.
Review existing methods of work and identify potential process improvements to align with best practice finance and audit procedures, leveraging available technology within the Agency.
Developing processes for the access and collation of data from multiple functions within the agency to support ESG reporting.
This will include the quality assurance of reports and visualisations, documenting the approach, data sources, assumptions and constraints related to same.
Gather, review and analyse business and industry data, including KPIs and project delivery programmes using data analytics tools.
Interpret trends and patterns in data to identify and provide recommendations for potential issues and improvements.
Facilitate workshops & focus groups to gather feedback and create detailed business, functional and non-functional requirements.
Communicate findings, insights and project analysis to various stakeholders and decision-makers.
Maintain documentation regarding projects, processes and operations.
Project manage the implementation of new systems and the written and visual communication of reporting outputs including the sustainability statement on the annual report.
Manage internal and external stakeholders to deliver on specific objectives.
As this is a newly created role, the scope of responsibilities will evolve as the Sustainability function grows and expands.
Other ad-hoc duties as required.
Requirements
Bachelors or Masters degree in the area of Finance, Auditing or other related discipline
A minimum of 3 years' experience working within a similar role.
Experience in Business and/or Data Analytics
Certification in Sustainability / ESG reporting is a distinct advantage
Excellent communication skills:
Ability to listen, understand and digest feedback from multiple perspectives to identify solutions.
Ability to effectively communicate and influence key stakeholders to support proposed strategies, process improvements and operational decisions
Desired Skills
Experience within the construction / infrastructure / utility delivery sector is an advantage, but we are also interested to hear from candidates with experience in process related industry.
Ability to manage projects and multi-task with excellent organisational skills
Demonstrate a positive "can-do" attitude, maintain confidentiality, and be an effective team player
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel & Word.
Resourcefulness, strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail.
