Amazon Worldwide Operations Security (WWOS) is looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented System Developement Engineer with a diverse skill set to provide infrastructure support, development, and vulnerability solutions for the WWOS Security Integrations Group (SIG), Global Engineering Team (GET).
As a member of the team, you will play an active role in maintaining and optimizing our global infrastructure while driving automation initiatives. You'll work with AWS services, including EC2 and CloudWatch, managing monthly patching cycles and coordinating annual system updates on Amazon Operations' physical security infrastructure, including access control and video systems. Your focus will be on both operational stability and technological advancement through standardization and process improvement.
Key job responsibilities
• Research, analyze and remediate security vulnerabilities through thorough testing and validation
• Manage AWS infrastructure using AWS Console and Ansible for configuration management
• Perform deep-dive technical analysis of Windows operating systems and infrastructure
• Develop and maintain Power Shell and Python scripts for process automation
• Provide comprehensive infrastructure support for critical system issues across multiple products
• Drive process improvement projects to enhance support delivery
• Partner with global Amazon teams to resolve complex customer issues
• Create and maintain technical documentation
• Lead and execute ambiguous technical projects
• Implement AWS services and cloud infrastructure solutions
About the team
Security Integrations Group (SIG), a part of Amazon Worldwide Operations Security (WWOS), is primarily an engineering team for Amazon's physical security systems across the globe, but also participates in the design, development, deployment, and project management aspects of these systems. SIG provides 24/7 customer support for physical security systems. SIG provides 24x7 support via support engineering teams in AMER, APAC, and EMEA. Engineers are available in-office at all times. - Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
- Experience (non-internship) in professional software development
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby- Experience with PowerShell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java
- Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology
