KennCo Underwriting, one of Irelands largest Insurance MGAs, is looking to hire aReporting/Data Analystto work in their busy IT Department. Located on the Grange Road in Rathfarnham, this exciting and innovative Underwriting agency is looking to hire someone dynamic that can fit into the the Reports Analyst, you will have a degree in a computer science / information technology / or computer related discipline. You will have 3+ years of similar experience in a financial company (or in a comparable industry) and will be comfortable working with all aspects of the data lifecycle.Responsibilities & DutiesDevelop, maintain, and optimise SQL queries and stored procedures for reporting and analysis.Produce and maintain regular MI reports using Cognos and SSRS, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.Extract, clean, and manipulate data from Microsoft Dynamics and other internal systems.Support the creation of dashboards and visual reports using Power BI to enhance business insights.Conduct ad-hoc analysis to support operational teams, finance, underwriting, and senior management.Assist in data validation, data quality assurance, and the automation of recurring reports.Collaborate with IT and business users to ensure data integrity across systems.Contribute to continuous improvement of MI processes, including documentation and process automation.Technical Knowledge & SkillsProven working experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data AnalystStrong SQL skills (including writing complex joins, subqueries, CTEs, and aggregations).Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis functions, charting).Experience with data extraction and manipulation from relational databases.Knowledge of Power BI, creating and developing new dashboards as well as maintaining and updating existing ones a distinct advantagePrevious experience in the Insurance Industry a distinct advantageExperience with this software a distinct advantageExperience with Microsoft Dynamics (CRM or ERP data structures)Experience with Cognos for MI development and report buildingFamiliarity with SSRS for report automation and schedulingExposure to Power BI (data modelling, DAX, visualisations)Basic knowledge of Python or R for data analysis and automationUnderstanding of insurance industry data (policies, claims, premiums, etc.)Familiarity with ETL processes or data warehousing conceptsGood quality presentation skills and good communication and listening skills particularly the ability to communicate with those who are not technically skilledGood problem solving & proven troubleshooting skillsAbility to work as part of a teamRole:Immediate Start, Permanent, full timeSalary:Salary commensurate with experience
