Planet Pharma are seeking a dynamic and experienced Microbiology Manager to oversee our clients microbiology operations at a state-of-the-art facility in Raheen, Limerick.

Lead a talented team, collaborate with industry stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement in one of Ireland's top contract laboratories.
Required Skills:
Minimum of 8+ years' experience in pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical microbiology
Extensive knowledge of environmental monitoring, bioburden, endotoxin, and sterility testing
Proven expertise in method development, validation, and transfer
5+ years' management or supervisory experience leading microbiology teams
Strong communication skills, particularly in stakeholder engagement with clients like Eli Lilly
Ability to manage multiple priorities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and team development
Familiarity with cGMP, SOPs, and regulatory standards (FDA, EMA)
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience working directly with client representatives or in a provider environment
Advanced microbiological techniques and tech transfer expertise
Project management or operational improvement certifications
Bilingual or additional language skills
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related scientific field
Over 8 years of hands-on microbiology laboratory experience in regulated environments
Demonstrated leadership in managing large teams and complex testing programs
Other Requirements:
On-site presence required five days a week at Eli Lilly facility
Ability to lead and motivate a team of 30+ analysts and supervisors
Capacity to handle high-pressure situations, including emergency calls
Strong interpersonal skills, including listening, defending, and supporting team members
Willingness to participate in occasional investigations outside normal hours if needed
