We are seeking a skilled Project Manager to join our team in Waterford. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in commercial management and quantity surveying, with a strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and industry standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to take on a key role in the commercial management of large, high-profile projects in the region. Working closely with the Commercial Manager and project teams, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ownership of the commercial aspects of our projects, including cost management, procurement, and contract administration.
* Develop and maintain detailed cost plans and budgets, monitoring costs against budget and identifying variances.
* Lead the tendering process for subcontractor packages, reviewing bids, negotiating contracts, and making recommendations to senior management.
* Administer construction contracts, including reviewing contract terms, preparing subcontract agreements, and managing variations and claims.
* Perform accurate quantity takeoffs and measurements, ensuring quantities are in line with project requirements.
* Collaborate with project teams to identify value engineering opportunities
* Manage change control processes, assessing the impact of changes on project costs and schedules and negotiating equitable solutions with stakeholders.
* Prepare and defend contractual claims, ensuring compliance with contract terms and applicable regulations.
* Provide guidance and support to junior quantity surveyors and other project team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantity surveying or commercial management,
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
* Proficiency in cost estimating, cost control, and financial management.
* Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport with stakeholders at all levels.
