fast-growing, founder-led technology company
operating in a complex, regulated and highly commercial environment. Following rapid early success, the business is now entering its next phase of scale — and is seeking an experienced
Chief Operating Officer
to act as the execution engine of the organisation.
This is a
true COO / General Manager role
, working alongside the Founder & CEO, who is increasingly focused on sales and external growth. You will take ownership of day-to-day operations, bring structure and operating discipline, and ensure the business scales
without losing speed or momentum
.
This is not a ceremonial COO role. This is hands-on, decisive and highly influential.
The Role
As COO, you will act as the
counterbalance to the Founder
— translating vision into execution, aligning teams, and building an operating rhythm that supports scale.
You'll bring clarity where there is ambiguity, process where it enables growth, and accountability without bureaucracy.
Key Responsibilities
* Translate founder vision into a
repeatable operating rhythm
(OKRs, cadence, execution discipline)
* Act as the operational lead and internal "adult in the room" during periods of growth pressure
* Scale the business from early-stage intensity to
operational maturity
, without slowing momentum
* Build cross-functional alignment across
product, engineering, legal operations, customer success and go-to-market teams
* Introduce process where it
unlocks scale
, not where it creates friction
* Own delivery credibility with enterprise and regulated clients
* Make smart trade-offs between
speed, quality and compliance
in a tech-enabled, policy-adjacent environment
* Drive
KPI visibility across the entire business
, not just finance
* Professionalise internal operations ahead of
Series A/B expectations
* Partner closely with the CEO on strategic priorities, execution and growth initiatives
* Support and influence commercial growth, with potential oversight of Marketing initially

* Experience professionalising operations ahead of investor scrutiny
* Comfort operating in
regulated, legal, AI or compliance-adjacent environments
* Confidence leading through ambiguity, pace and pressure
Experience scaling a business to exit is a strong advantage.
