Assistant Accountant – Temporary Full Time
Applications are invited for the position of Assistant Accountant on a Temporary Full Time basis. The Assistant Accountant will report directly to the Finance Director.
Key responsibilities for this role are as follows:
* Responsible for setting up bank payments - weekly
* Responsible for setting up bank beneficiaries and verifications – ad hoc
* Responsible for setting up / amending / cancelling of standing orders and internal process for approval - ad hoc
* Responsible for reconciliation of multiple bank accounts and intercompany transactions (part manual coding, part automated by journals)
* Responsible for coding, capture and review of purchase invoices, including liaising with relevant budget holders and including e-signature document chain.
* Responsible for onward charging invoices and control reconciliations for property related charges (rental income, insurance & service charges)
* Responsible for processing RCC invoices to intergroup for retail contributions
* Responsible for journal preparation & posting, including accruals and prepayments
* Responsible for reconciliation of sundry debtors, sundry creditors, and trade creditors accounts
* Assisting with monthly balance sheet analysis
* Assistant with general office administration
* Assisting with other ad hoc requirements as they arise.
The ideal candidate will possess some of the following skills:
* Working towards an accounting qualification
* Previous experience within general accounts office
* Excellent debtors and creditors reconciliation experience
* Excellent bank reconciliation experience
* Strong XL experience (i.e. vlookup, formatting etc)
* Strong communication (written and verbal) and organisation skills and a proven ability to quickly pick up new concepts
* Ability to work accurately with a strong attention to detail
* Ability to demonstrate flexibility, adaptability and multitasking abilities
* Ability to work to strict monthly deadlines and adaptable to change
* Ability to work as a team as well as on own initiative
