Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated HR Specialist to join our team. As an HR Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth administration of all HR processes within the organisation.

Main Responsibilities

* To manage end-to-end recruitment, including job descriptions, job-posting, candidate screening, interview/scheduling, reference checks.
* Support the Garda Vetting processes and compliance.
* Support the Employment Permit processes and compliance.
* Coordinate staff and volunteer onboarding and induction programmes,
* Maintain recruitment documentation and ensure compliance with organisational policies, funding bodies, and GDPR.
* Maintain accurate HR records (contracts, personnel files, leave, attendance, training) both within the HR directory and within the HRIS, BrightHR.
* Support payroll preparation (timesheets, allowances, updates to hours/roles).
* Ensure HR databases, HRIS/Bright HR or SharePoint systems are up to date.
* Prepare HR reports for management as needed.
* Provide first-line support to staff on HR queries, policies, entitlements, performance, and wellbeing.
* Support managers with HR processes (probation, performance reviews, discipline and grievance).
* Promote a respectful, inclusive, and supportive workplace culture.
* Ensure organisational compliance with Irish employment law, GDPR, and internal policies.
* Ensure HR processes align with equality legislation and best practice in inclusive recruitment and employment.
* Maintain and update staff handbook, and HR policies.
* Assist with health and safety compliance, training schedules, and incident reporting.
* Support the annual audit of HR systems and processes.
* Coordinate staff training needs analysis and training plans.
* Organise external and internal training sessions.
* Support wellbeing initiatives and staff teambuilding activities.
* Track mandatory training (safeguarding, H&S, data protection, child protection, etc.).
* Maintain records for volunteers, including vetting, training, and induction.
* Support recruitment and retention of volunteers.
* Provide guidance to volunteer coordinators on HR-related matters (policies, duty of care).
* Attending all designated training programmes in support of skills development,
* Active participation in team and staff meetings.
* Complying with the Health & Safety requirements of the organisation and legislation.

Key Qualifications

CIPD qualified (or working towards it)

2–4+ years' experience in HR, ideally in the charity, community, public or social-care sector.

Proficiency with HR systems/ BrightHR, MS Office (especially Excel), and digital tools.

Strong understanding of Irish employment law

Experience managing recruitment and HR administration.
