Role Overview
Due to continued growth, Crown is seeking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial team. This is a remote-based role, with candidates required to be resident in Ireland, the UK or Europe, and available to travel to project sites across Europe as/if required.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the successful candidate will take a lead role in the commercial management of live projects, providing oversight, guidance and commercial control across the project lifecycle. You will work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and subcontractors to ensure strong commercial performance, cost certainty and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the commercial management of projects in line with company procedures and best practice.
* Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts and cost-to-complete reports.
* Oversee measurement of works and preparation of interim and final valuations.
* Prepare and review client applications and support the invoicing process.
* Manage procurement strategies for subcontractors and materials.
* Assess subcontractor applications, manage valuations, payments and final accounts.
* Administer construction contracts, including variations, change control and claims.
* Identify, manage and report commercial risks and opportunities.
* Provide commercial support and guidance to Project and Site Management teams.
* Maintain accurate commercial records and reporting for senior management.
* Attend site as required to support commercial activities and project delivery.
Person Specification
* Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
* Minimum of 8–10 years' post-graduate experience in a quantity surveying role.
* Previous experience in roofing, cladding or façade systems is highly desirable.
* Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial management.
* Excellent commercial, numerical and analytical skills.
* Strong communication and leadership skills, capable of working across remote and site-based teams.
* High level of IT proficiency (Excel, Word, Outlook; Microsoft Project / Primavera an advantage).
* Full, current driving licence.
* Valid passport and willingness to travel to European project sites as required.
