Overview
A Human Resources Generalist is responsible for managing every aspect of the employee lifecycle, from pre-hire to exit. The HR Generalist plays a key role in ensuring a positive employee experience for all College staff (including full-time and part-time lecturers), with an ongoing focus on supporting: recruitment, engagement, wellbeing, mental health, EDI, HR projects, talent management and operational efficiencies.
Job Responsibilities
* Support core HR operations including employee records, compliance, recruitment, retention, and employee experience.
* Coordinate and deliver employee onboarding and training programmes in partnership with the People team.
* Design and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement and overall workplace culture.
* Provide guidance and support to employees on HR policies, processes, and employee relations matters.
* Collaborate with leadership and project teams to integrate Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) into organisational design, policy development, and change initiatives.
* Partner with stakeholders to prioritise and embed EDI actions across all levels of the organisation.
* Develop and deliver strategies, programmes, and training initiatives to advance EDI and support employee engagement.
* Contribute to the development, review, and implementation of HR policies, ensuring alignment with best practice and organisational goals.
* Plan, manage, and evaluate staff learning and development initiatives that support organisational effectiveness.
* Utilise HRIS and people analytics to inform decision-making, track HR metrics, and enhance HR processes.
* Maintain accurate and compliant employee records across both digital HR systems and paper files.
Minimum Education / Experience Required
* Proven experience as an HR Generalist with experience in EX, EDI and Training
* Good knowledge in relation to EDI legislation, policy and practice, including but not limited to the Employment Equality Act 1998 (as amended) and the Equal Status Act 2000 (as amended).
* Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
* Good knowledge of employment laws
* Outstanding knowledge of MS Office; HRIS systems
* Excellent communication and people skills
* Aptitude in problem-solving
* Desire to work as a team with a result driven approach
* BSc/BA in Business or Human Resources Management
* Additional HR training will be a plus
