The role
EMEA Surgical Vision Demand Planning Director
The role partners closely with Commercial, Finance, and Supply Chain to drive forecast accuracy, orchestrate demand generation events (promotions, NPI, lifecycle management), and mature IBP and scenario-based decision‑making. The leader owns the quality, credibility, and transparency of the SV regional demand signal, ensuring clear visibility to supply, inventory, and financial outcomes across the 1‑24‑month planning horizon.
Job Scope
Regional forecasting and demand shaping
Short and mid‑term planning (1‑24 months)
Demand scenario planning (baseline, upside, downside)
Inventory and SLOB optimisation
Alignment of demand plans to financial commitments
Regional SV demand metrics, analytics, and governance
Deployment of best practices, digital tools, and AI‑enabled planning
Leadership of the EMEA SV Demand Planning organisation
Support of key Surgical Vision projects and strategic initiatives
Key Accountabilities
Demand Planning Excellence
Lead the SV Demand Planning team to deliver high quality, decision‑ready demand forecasts.
Drive forecast value‑add through demand sensing, shaping, statistical modelling, and advanced analytics.
Ensure robust demand consensus by integrating market intelligence, customer forecasts, commercial strategy, and lifecycle events (NPI / EOL).
Integrated Business Planning & Scenario Management
Lead regional demand inputs into the IBP cycle, enabling transparent discussion of risks and opportunities.
Develop and maintain credible demand scenarios to support supply, inventory, and financial decision‑making.
Ensure disciplined hand‑off of demand plans to supply planning within the IBP horizon.
Cross‑Functional Leadership
Act as the primary commercial interface for all Surgical Vision supply chain topics.
Coordinate timely, accurate communication on supply constraints, allocations, and recovery actions.
Partner with Global Planning, GPEX, Commercial, Finance, and Supply Planning to continuously improve planning outcomes.
Inventory, Service & Financial Performance
Ensure demand plans support customer service, inventory, and working capital targets.
Identify and lead inventory and SLOB risk‑mitigation opportunities through scenario planning and demand shaping.
Provide demand visibility to support Portfolio Management Reviews, MBRs, and financial assessments.
Transformation, Digital & Capability Building
Drive adoption of advanced planning tools, automation, and AI across demand planning.
Own regional SV demand planning governance, documentation, and standard operating procedures.
Build and develop a high‑performing team, strengthening capability, succession, and bench strength.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; MBA preferred.
Minimum 8 years business experience, with 5+ years in Demand Planning / IBP.
Strong experience with ERP and advanced planning systems (e.g. SAP, APO, SNP, OMP).
Proven people‑leadership experience.
Desirable
Medical Device or Consumer industry experience.
APICS / IBF certification.
Six Sigma Green Belt.
Familiarity with applicable regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g. GMP, ISO).
Skills & Competencies
Strategic leadership with strong business and financial acumen.
Ability to influence at senior levels and lead cross‑functionally.
Effective communication skills, able to make complex topics clear and compelling.
Deep understanding of demand planning, forecasting techniques, and IBP.
Strong analytical capability and problem‑solving mindset.
Continuous improvement and transformation orientation.
Location
Based in Ireland (preferably Limerick).
Approximately 10‑20% travel.
Anticipated Base Pay Range For This Position Is
€104,000.00 – €179,515.00
