Job Title: Senior Cost Manager
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cost Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review construction contracts and manage procurement of subcontractors and materials.
- Control project costs and budgets, ensuring financial targets are met.
- Prepare valuations, cost reports, and financial updates throughout project lifecycles.
- Support improvements in commercial processes and overall project profitability.
- Manage subcontractor payments and ensure final accounts are agreed.
- Handle project correspondence and resolve contractual issues.
Requirements:
- A third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics is advantageous but not essential.
- Minimum of 1 year's experience in a Quantity Surveying role, ideally within the building or construction sector.
- Strong understanding of core quantity surveying principles and project cost control.
- High attention to detail with solid operational and commercial awareness.
- Good presentation and general management skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with clients and team members.
- Excellent written communication and negotiation skills to achieve favourable commercial outcomes.
- Proven ability to multitask and manage the commercial aspects of multiple projects concurrently.
