Job Overview
The role of an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor is pivotal in the commercial management of multiple projects from tender to final account.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Pre-Contract Phase: Assist in preparing accurate cost estimates, conduct detailed material take-offs, bill of quantities, and engage with subcontractors for pricing and quotations. Also, support value engineering exercises to optimise project costs.
2. Post-Contract Phase: Manage and monitor project costs, prepare and submit interim payment applications, assess, negotiate, and agree subcontractor accounts, track and report commercial performance across multiple sites, and assist in preparing final accounts.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* A minimum of 35 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the Irish construction industry.
* A strong background in commercial construction projects (e.g., office, school, retail, mixed-use).
* A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.
* A deep understanding of Irish construction contracts (e.g., GCCC, RIAI).
* Excellent numerical, analytical, and communication skills.
* Proficiency in MS Excel and QS software packages.
* Ability to manage multiple projects independently while supporting senior QS staff.
