Glenhaven has four fully integrated continuous coating lines with the capabilities to produce both bagged and carton products supplying all the major retailers, food service operators and distributors both in IOI and the UK.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Store/Warehouse Operative to join the team. This role requires a strong focus on stock accuracy, storage optimisation, safety and compliance. This role plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and safe flow of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods. The post holder will predominantly be based in Ballynattin, Arklow, Co. Wicklow
Key Responsibilities:
* Unload incoming deliveries of raw materials, ingredients, and packaging.
* Store items in designated areas, ensuring proper rotation.
* Maintain accurate stock records using manual or digital inventory systems.
* Conduct regular stock checks and report shortages or excesses.
* Pick raw materials or packaging for production according to job sheets.
* Prepare finished goods for dispatch, ensuring correct labeling and documentation.
* Load and unload vehicles safely and efficiently.
* Follow food safety and hygiene regulations (e.g., allergen control, temperature monitoring).
* Adhere to site-specific health and safety procedures (PPE, safe lifting).
* Maintain cleanliness in storage areas to prevent contamination.
* Accurately complete paperwork (delivery notes, stock sheets, waste records).
* Use warehouse management systems (WMS) or ERP software to record transactions.
* Liaise with production, quality assurance, and logistics teams.
* Report issues promptly to supervisors (e.g., stock discrepancies, equipment faults).
* Operate forklifts, pallet trucks, or other material handling equipment safely (with valid license/certification).
* Perform basic equipment checks and report maintenance needs.
* Inspect goods for quality, quantity, and damage.
* Verify deliveries against purchase orders and report discrepancies.
Attributes, Qualifications & Experience:
* Valid Forklift truck license (e.g., Counterbalance or Reach Truck) is essential
* Attention to Detail - Essential for accurately picking stock, checking deliveries, and maintaining records.
* Prior experience in a warehouse/stores, ideally within food or FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) industry.
* Familiarity with stock rotation methods like FIFO/FEFO.
* Capable of manual handling, working on your feet, and meeting physical demands of the role.
* Punctual, dependable, and able to work shifts or overtime if required.
* Understanding of hygiene practices, allergen control, and site safety protocols.
* HACCP awareness or basic food hygiene certification is a plus.
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
