We are currently seeking a Pharmaceutical Technician – Basic Grade Dispensary to join a well-established hospital in Dublin.

Job Type Permanent / Full-time Key Responsibilities Support the procurement, storage, and supply of medications, ensuring safety, quality, and cost efficiency.
Provide dispensary services, including accurate dispensing, extemporaneous compounding, and stock control.
Operate and maintain Pyxis automated dispensing systems, including stock replenishment and monitoring.
Handle medication orders, returns, and stock rotation, ensuring compliance with documentation standards.
Assist with ward-based medication management, including stock replenishment and resolving medication-related queries.
Ensure accurate billing, documentation, and record-keeping for all pharmaceutical activities.
Monitor stock levels, expiry dates, and shortages, escalating issues when necessary.
Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant dispensary environment in line with hospital policies.
Support data collection and reporting on medication usage and pharmacy operations.
Participate in on-call duties, weekend shifts, and extended service hours as required.
Requirements Recognised Pharmacy Technician qualification.
Experience in a hospital or dispensary setting (preferred).
Strong knowledge of medications, dispensing practices, and pharmacy operations.
Experience or familiarity with automated dispensing systems (e.g., Pyxis) is an advantage.
Excellent attention to detail, organisational, and time-management skills.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities within a multidisciplinary environment.
Understanding of quality standards, audits, and regulatory compliance in healthcare.
Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and on-call shifts.
