Clinical Nurse Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Care

Essential Requirements
Be a registered nurse on the active Register of Nurses/Midwives held by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) or be eligible to register.
Be registered in the Psychiatric Nursing Division.
Have acquired a level 8 post‑registration Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) major academic award relevant to the specialist area (peri‑natal mental health or specialist mental health interventions) prior to application.
Have extensive experience and clinical expertise (minimum of 5 years of post‑registration experience in Psychiatric nursing).
Demonstrate a minimum of 2 years’ experience working with women in relation to Perinatal Mental Health issues in a specialist unit, or in an acute inpatient service, or in a community mental health team or in an acute community mental health team.
Have the ability to practice safely and effectively fulfilling one's professional responsibility within one's scope of practice.
Have evidence of continuing professional development specifically in relation to Perinatal Mental Health care, for example the Mind Mothers e‑learning programme on HSELanD.
Please note that it is the policy of the CWIUH to require nurses and midwives to certify registration with NMBI annually, by way of the Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
