Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist Job Summary The Accounts Payable Specialist will play a key role in managing supplier accounts, processing invoices, and supporting various accounting functions. This role also includes light involvement in payroll processing, offering an excellent opportunity for a newly or part-qualified accountant to develop their skills in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities Accounts Payable and Bookkeeping:
* Process and reconcile supplier invoices and payments accurately and on time.
* Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, journals, and accounts.
* Assist with accounts receivable and general bookkeeping tasks as required.
Payroll Support:
* Provide light support in payroll processing, including preparing data for payroll runs.
* Ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with relevant payroll regulations. Financial Reporting and Compliance: Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
* Support budget preparation and variance analysis.
* Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and information.
* Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
General Accounting Support:
* Help prepare tax returns and other statutory filings.
* Support ad-hoc financial projects and analysis.
* Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and support business operations.
Qualifications Education:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
* Newly qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent).
* Experience:
* 1–2 years' experience in accounts payable or general accounting.
* Experience with accounting software (for example, QuickBooks, Sage, Xero) and MS Excel.
