Associate Director – Land Consulting (Naas, Ireland)
WSP Land, the largest land referencing practice in the UK and Ireland, is looking for an experienced Associate Director to lead the delivery of land services across the energy, transport, water, telecommunications and renewable energy sectors. The role will be based in Naas with office rotations in Belfast.
Role Overview
The Associate Director will act as a trusted adviser to clients, drive business development, manage a high‑performance team and ensure the delivery of land services on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
Lead the delivery of land business development in Ireland across key sectors to secure new projects and extend existing client relationships.
Work closely with WSP Disciplines (Engineering, Engagement, Environmental, Planning) to exploit multidisciplinary opportunities and grow the business.
Raise the profile of WSP Land in Ireland across public, target business sectors and academia.
Act as a trusted advisor to clients, engaging with client capture teams and Key Client Managers.
Lead the writing of bids/tenders to secure opportunities.
Manage Resource Strategy including staff retention, succession planning and recruitment.
Lead successful delivery of projects on time, within budget and to the highest standards.
Review project delivery to support risk and opportunity management and ensure alignment with client needs.
Provide technical direction on land projects within Ireland and the UK, including statutory processes.
Promote WSP culture of health, safety, wellbeing, quality assurance, data protection and core pillar champions.
Travel across the UK and Ireland as required.
Qualifications
Experience managing/directing the delivery of land services including land referencing, statutory orders, land acquisition and landowner engagement on infrastructure development schemes.
Experience working with multi‑disciplinary teams across a range of sectors and locations.
Experience reducing land risk for clients and advising on land matters throughout all stages of a project lifecycle.
Experience of Public Inquiries, Oral Hearings, managing objections and land risk.
Experience in bid writing, approvals process and resource strategy.
Knowledge of target business market in Ireland and rural environment, property and communities.
Strong landowner and public engagement skills; excellent influencing and negotiating skills.
Excellent team working skills and the ability to develop strong relationships with senior clients.
Ability to work under pressure and deliver high quality outputs; good business and IT skills.
A degree in Geography, Agriculture, Land and Estate Management or similar. Chartered membership or professional body membership is an advantage.
A full driver’s licence is essential.
