Job Description
We are recruiting a Microbiology Laboratory Technician to join our diverse Micro team in Westport. This role involves shift work and is a 12-month FTC.
The responsibilities include performing routine microbiology laboratory activities such as environmental monitoring of cleanrooms, microbial analysis of site utilities, and testing of raw materials, as well as commercial, clinical, and development batches. You will also manage microbial analysis of AbbVie's products in the Global Stability program, ensuring all microbiological testing complies with regulatory standards.
A snapshot of your key responsibilities as a Micro Analyst would be:
* Maintain and ensure compliance with Laboratory Documentation and Computerized Systems Data Integrity requirements.
* Perform testing for release and stability, including Environmental Monitoring, Water sampling, Bioburden, Endotoxin, Growth promotion, In-process testing, Sterility testing, APET, and Antibiotic Assay.
* Prepare and review reports and documentation such as SOPs, protocols, training modules, investigations, CAPAs, and deviations.
* Trend results and investigate adverse or out-of-limit results.
* Validate equipment and microbiology test methods.
* Adhere to and support all EHS & E standards, procedures, and policies.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, you need:
* A third-level qualification in microbiology or an equivalent science discipline.
* At least 12 months of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in Aseptic processing.
* Working knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and sterile processing.
* A strong background in Aseptic techniques and/or Microbiology.
