Position Summary
Mortgage Lock Desk Manager (LDM) is an operations role within Mortgage Division.
The position is responsible for various functions.
The LDM manages rate locks, monitors market pricing, and ensures loans are locked accurately and in line with investor and company guidelines.
This position handles lock requests, extensions, and changes while supporting loan officers, maintaining pricing systems, and helping protect the lender from market risk.
The LDM also accurately prepares timely loan disclosures packages.
This position provides support and direction as needed which should be consistent with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of the organization and performance aligned with the four (4) pillars of the company's Strategic Plan.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Process lock requests from loan officers
Confirm eligibility for locks based on product guidelines, investor rules, and lock policies
Issue lock confirmations and ensure accuracy of pricing, terms, and expiration dates
Monitor lock expirations and proactively communicate upcoming deadline
Maintain awareness of investor pricing changes and secondary market conditions
Ensure pricing engines are accurate and up to date
Monitor the locked pipeline to ensure loans are progressing toward closing
Identify loans at risk of expiring and coordinate with processing/underwriting
Serve as the primary point of contact for lock-related questions
Provide guidance to loan officers on pricing scenarios and lock strategy
Responsible for disclosing all loans within a timely manner
Maintain data integrity in LOS and PPE systems
Generate daily/weekly reports on lock activity, fallout, and pipeline metrics
Other Responsibilities
Understand and abide by applicable statutes, regulations, and applicable interagency guidelines
Complete required bank training and other compliance training as assigned
Support and promote the Bank vision, mission and core values, organizational structure and policies and procedures
Highly focused, able to rapidly determine key priorities, clearly communicate the priorities and ensure resources are properly aligned
Provide a strong, compassionate, and visible leadership, which fosters positive attitudes and trust among employees, customers, and prospects
Comply with federal and state regulations as well as all established Bank policies and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Education and Experience Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
Minimum 5 years or more of similar or related experience
Must have excellent analytical, observational, and decision-making skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are necessary for maintaining effective relationships with Board members, officers, employees, and members of the business and civic community
Highly focused, able to rapidly determine key priorities, clearly communicate the priorities and ensure resources are properly aligned
Individual should be able to work under high pressure situations and in a stressful atmosphere yet be able to remain composed
Must be able to be physically present in the Bank to perform job duties
