Our academic partner is Trinity College Dublin. Purpose of the role: The role of the Chief I Clinical Measurement Physiologist in the GI Function Unit (GIFU) will complement the work of the Chief II. The post holder will oversee the efficient and effective running of the Gastro Intestinal Physiology (GI) Service in St. James Hospital (SJH) under the direction of the Chief II GI Physiologist. His/ Her responsibility will include planning and managing the day to day service and staff resources in the GIFU, as well as conducting a full range of diagnostic tests and procedures. The post holder will ensure that Departmental Policies and Procedures and professional, ethical and Health and Safety Standards are maintained at all times. The post holder will be responsible for facilitating the teaching of students. The post holder will be involved in establishing a vision for the future of the Department with the Chief II GI Physiologist and the Clinical Director of the GI Function Unit. The position also requires a strategic approach to the development of services and structures, embracing continuous quality improvement and the management of changes necessary to achieve organisational objectives under the direction of the Chief II GI Physiologist.
