With our sustainable concepts and experience gained from decades of project work, we shape the future of transportation, connect continents, and promote environmental stewardship.We are currently seeking an Environmental Lead to work with us on a project in Ireland.Responsibilities:Lead environmental and sustainability efforts, including carbon and circular economy implementationEnsure compliance with environmental commitments and rail order requirementsOversee all environmental deliverables, including those from other contractorsDefine methodologies and resources for additional technical studies as neededReview and ensure contractor environmental plans comply with project standardsSupport creation of integrated environmental solutions during designIdentify and mitigate environmental risksMaintain strong understanding of environmental legislation in Ireland and internationallyEnsure compliance with environmental management systems throughout the project lifecycleLead and mentor environmental engineering teamEnsure documentation meets technical and functional standardsManage project activities for compliance with rail order requirementsProvide design assurance and technical support for environmental plansAlign and coordinate sustainability efforts across the projectConduct regular reporting and support planning and control processesPerform additional tasks as required by the roleQualifications:Minimum 15 years' professional experience with at least 7 years' experience in environmental management within a multi-disciplinary rail projectAt least Bachelor's degree (Honours Bachelor Degree) (or equivalent) in an environmental or sustainability related disciplineChartered member of of a relevant professional body preferred e.g. Chartered Engineer (EI or equivalent), Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv, ISEP or equivalent), Chartered Project Professional (APM, IPM or equivalent) or Programme Management Professional (PMI or equivalent)BREEAM AP certification preferableBREEAM Infrastructure Assessor certification preferableSix Sigma, Lean Manufacturing certification preferableBeing trained as Lead ISO auditorExperience in implementing and managing project controls and report writingUnderstanding and experience in the relevant technical field for the roleExperience in quality assurance processes to ensure that project deliverables meet the required standardsKnowledge of environmental, sustainability, and technical standards (BS, EN, IS)Understanding of railway systems, design, operations, and safetyAbility to generate clear specifications and interface documentation with cross-functional teamsSkilled at engaging and managing stakeholder relationships, including regulatory bodies and customersStrong verbal and written communicationExpertise in risk identification, assessment, and mitigationEffective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams for cohesive deliveryProblem-solving and solution development skills to keep projects on trackKnowledge of Technical Assurance for compliance with standardsFlexibility to adapt to changing project needsStrong interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and outcome-driven skillsBenefits:We're strong believers in continual training and development for our people.
