About the Role We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead day-to-day business operations during a fixed-term period for maternity leave cover.
This is a senior management, hands-on leadership role with full responsibility for operational performance.
You will oversee start to finish order fulfilment, customer service, stock control, supplier coordination, building facilities management, internal standards and H.
R requirements to ensure the business runs smoothly, efficiently, and profitably.
The role requires strong judgment, calm decision-making, commercial awareness, and the ability to maintain high standards across multiple moving parts.
The ideal candidate will have the required skills and experience, while also being adaptable and ready to handle challenges as they arise.
A positive, solutions-focused attitude is essential.
Key Responsibilities Operational Oversight Lead daily warehouse and fulfilment operations Ensure accurate, on-time order dispatch Maintain high standards of packing quality and presentation Monitor workflow to prevent bottlenecks Ensure operational issues are resolved quickly and permanently Oversee facilities management of the premises, ensuring the workspace is safe, organised, and operating efficiently at all times.
Customer Service Oversight Oversee the Customer Service Manager and support service standards Monitor response times, returns, reviews, and service quality Ensure customer promises align with operational reality Step in on escalated issues when required Stock & Supplier Management Oversee stock levels, forecasting, and purchasing Work closely with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries Monitor product quality and address supplier issues Prevent stockouts and excess holding through accurate planning Process & Systems Ensure operational systems are followed and continuously improved Maintain clear internal and external documentation and procedures Improve efficiency without compromising quality Identify recurring issues and implement root-cause solutions Performance & Accountability Maintain team standards and morale Address underperformance directly and constructively Internal Communication Act as the central coordination point between all departments: Warehouse, Salesfloor, Workshop, Customer Service, Marketing, Media, Accounts and Management Ensure information flows clearly across departments Provide regular operational updates to senior leadership Manage staff rosters and oversee all annual leave and sick leave requests.
What We're Looking For Proven experience in operations management, e-commerce, retail, or fulfilment environments Strong leadership and decision-making ability Highly organised with excellent attention to detail Comfortable managing both people and processes Commercially aware and solution-focused Calm under pressure, adaptable and able to prioritise effectively Experience working with inventory and operational systems Accountability This is a senior management role with responsibility for maintaining operational stability and performance during the maternity cover period.
