About FutureNeuro and RCSI FutureNeuro is the Research Ireland Centre for Translational Brain Science.
Our Centre uniquely focuses on making discoveries and developing technologies that can solve the urgent, unmet needs of people living with neurological, psychiatric and neurodevelopmental disorders and the health professionals who care for them, linked to Ireland's clinical care pathways.

About the post In Phase 2 of the FutureNeuro Centre, we are expanding our Digital Health Research Programme, focusing on cutting-edge technologies such as application of AI and data linkage to large health data sets, health informatics, digital medical devices, and digital therapeutics.
We are seeking a Digital Health Innovation Lead who will support the FutureNeuro Leadership Team, to promote the value of FutureNeuro data and digital health assets to potential enterprise partners, policy makers and wider stakeholder groups in line with best practice in health Data Governance and in light of emerging data and digital technologies.
The role involves implementing governance and risk-management practices and futureproofing the organization's data assets.
The holder of the role will contribute to achieving the Centre's ambitious scientific outputs, cost shares targets and expected societal and health impacts.
The successful candidate will join the core FutureNeuro Operations team, which is based at RCSI (new 'Connect' Building on St Stephen's Green) and which supports the academic and clinical researchers to deliver patient-informed innovative, multi-disciplinary translational research; to secure industry and competitive funding; and to champion the Centre's national and international engagement across world-leading research teams, industry partners, patient groups and the wider public audience.
Key Responsibilities The key responsibilities of the role include: Supporting Digital Health Leadership In collaboration with the Leadership team and advisory committees, champion the FutureNeuro data and digital health vision and strategy to maximise the value of health data as a contributor to improving patient-centred and personalised healthcare to highest possible standards.
Work collaboratively with the Leadership Team and the wider research organisation to implement the digital health strategy.
Enable the cohesive growth of the FutureNeuro Digital Health research programme by promoting collaborations across Digital Health work streams and the wider research programme.
Work in tandem with the relevant Advisory Committees, Leadership team and Principal Investigators to ensure good governance of data assets.
Provide practical operational support as needed to the Work Package leads to ensure smooth progress and coordination of the research programme.
External and Policy Engagement Maintain, on behalf of FutureNeuro, a critical understanding of current and future opportunities and challenges presented for our research organisation in data/digital health ecosystem to ensure the continued relevance of the strategic data and digital health direction of FutureNeuro.
Build strategic relationships with healthcare, policy and research bodies to effectively communicate the vision for FutureNeuro's Data and Digital Roadmap, both within and outside the industry on a national and international level.
Identify and promote research opportunities that add value to the HSE Digital Health Strategic Implementation Roadmap and to realise opportunities provided by the European Health Data Space (EHDS), nationally and internationally.
Identify and promote opportunities for FutureNeuro to contribute to the policy discourse on health data, digital health technologies and emerging regulatory frameworks.
Identify and promote opportunities to work with wider digital health ecosystem in HEIs, research centres and external partners (e.g., technology companies, healthcare providers) to advance interdisciplinary research in digital health.
Cost-share and Commercialisation Promote the valorisation of Digital Health assets within the Centre and contribute to the Centre's cost share targets by working closely with Business Development and Funding Managers to identify and promote opportunities aligned with strategic objectives.
Contribute to the Centre's commercialisation strategy by working with relevant commercialisation leads to identify opportunities emerging from the Digital Health Research Programme.
Represent FutureNeuro at both national and EU levels to discover and apply for funding and collaboration opportunities with other Research Ireland Centres, Enterprise Ireland 'Disruptive Technologies Innovation Fund' and Research Ireland 'Challenge' Funding.
Data Asset Management Map, manage and optimise the key data/digital assets and capabilities available within the FutureNeuro organization to ensure opportunities and growth are realised.
Identify and champion buy-in for the conditions (infrastructure/ technology platforms, policies) to enable capturing, integration and interoperability of data and technologies assets.
Champion best practices for data management, storage and access.
Promote a centralised data inventory and knowledge management system, to consolidate and organise priority data asset.
Progress the expansion of the FutureNeuro GitHub to promote sharing of knowledge and scripts.
Capacity Building Contribute to capacity building within the Centre to grow organisational valorisation of data.
Cultivate a workforce with modern data management skills in areas such as data management, FAIR Data, Open Science.
Provide support to individual researchers and groups for the development of data management plans, using tools such as DMPonline.
Facilitate strong Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) to inform the data and digital roadmap.
Budget Management and Reporting Support the Digital Health Thematic Lead and Centre Manager to capture the qualitative and quantitative outputs of the Digital Health and with case studies to demonstrate the value of FutureNeuro Digital Health Research.
Support the Digital Health Lead and Centre Manager in overseeing research budget spend to optimise value.
Contribute to reporting and planning deadlines as required by Leadership team and prime sponsors.

Qualifications Technical Skills and Expertise Required Minimum of a third level STEM discipline degree (Level 8 NFQ or higher) ideally related to Digital Health, complemented with relevant further postgraduate education or research experience.
A minimum of 5 years' experience in a relevant programme management role.
Data Strategy and Management: Knowledge and experience in data strategy, data management, regulatory, compliance and data governance.
Familiarity with data architecture, data quality, and data lifecycle management.
Digital Technologies: Familiarity with digital technologies and tools relevant to a research organization's digital initiatives.
These include on premises compute infrastructure, cloud computing, Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML).
Digital Health Transformation: An understanding of digital trends and technologies relevant to the FutureNeuro strategic direction.
Capability to identify opportunities for digital transformation and leverage digital tools and platforms effectively.
Data Security and Risk Management: Understanding of data security principles, including data encryption, access controls, and vulnerability management.
Knowledge of risk management frameworks and ability to identify and mitigate potential data-related risks.
Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the industry landscape and trends related to data and digital technologies.
Research and Healthcare Knowledge: Experience of working within a research community or research setting.
Stakeholder Engagement: Effective communication and people skills to engage with diverse stakeholders such as industrial partners, funding agencies, policy makers, and the public.
Experience of dealing with Board members in a range of organisations.
Project Management: Excellent project management skills to oversee the implementation of data and digital initiatives.
Collaboration and Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively across different teams, departments, and external organizations.
Experience in leading and working in cross-functional teams.
