Drive business improvement at ASL by applying AI-powered analysis and software development across operational business areas. Using Claude as both an advanced analytical tool and a development platform, the Graduate Innovation Analyst will help the business optimise processes, streamline data flows, and deploy innovative solutions that align with ASL's strategic goals.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the intermediary between business areas and the Innovation Team. Engage stakeholders across Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain Shared Service and other business areas. Facilitate effective communication and provide regular progress and status reporting to all stakeholders.
AI-Powered Analysis: Use Claude as an advanced analytical tool to interrogate business data, synthesise operational documents, map processes, and surface insights that drive business understanding and decision-making.
Solution Development: Design, build, test, and deploy Claude-powered applications that solve real operational problems. Move between business analyst work and developer work as each project requires.
Project Delivery: Follow a lean project methodology to coordinate project activities through feasibility, initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and control, and closure. Perform quality control on solutions, manage scope, risks and decisions, and ensure change management is built into every delivery.
Process Optimisation: Apply a standardised lean approach to business optimisation: define the problem and scope, measure current process performance, analyse cause and effect to identify root causes, and improve and control the process. Use BPMN 2.0 for process mapping where appropriate.
Innovative Thinking: Identify high-impact business optimisation opportunities. Design and innovate solutions that are smart, scalable, cost-effective and maintainable, with the purpose of increasing productivity, eliminating waste, saving time and reducing cost.
Technical and Domain Capability: Build proficiency in operational systems relevant to assigned projects, including ASL's flight operations (CAE), MRO (Swiss-AS), and Google Cloud Platform environments. Develop specialised knowledge of designated business areas with the aim of becoming a subject matter expert.
Adherence to Standards: Maintain project tasks, milestones, statuses and risks on standardised platforms. Close out project documentation on standardised knowledge repositories. Maintain the process repository and keep process documentation up to date.
Qualifications: First-class or 2.1 honours degree in Business Information Systems (BIS) or equivalent. A strong academic record is the baseline expectation.
Experience: Graduate entry role. No prior full-time experience required. Evidence of self-directed learning, personal projects, internship delivery, or side work that demonstrates initiative is a strong signal. Familiarity with at least one programming language (Python, JavaScript or similar) is expected. Genuine interest in AI and the Claude platform is essential.
