Job Title: Receptionist / Bookkeeper (Debt Collection & Credit Control) Company: Flanagan & Co Location: Mullingar Reporting To: Practice Manager / Partners Employment Type: Full-time Role Overview Flanagan & Co is seeking a highly organised and professional Receptionist / Bookkeeper with experience in Debt Collection and Credit Control. This is a key front-of-house and financial administration role, combining client-facing responsibilities with bookkeeping, credit control, and debtor management. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the office while supporting the firms financial controls and cashflow management. Key Responsibilities Reception & Administration Act as the first point of contact for clients, visitors, and callers, providing a professional and welcoming service. Manage incoming calls, emails, and correspondence, directing queries appropriately. Maintain appointment schedules, meeting rooms, and client records. Handle incoming and outgoing post and general office administration. Support partners and staff with ad-hoc administrative duties as required. Bookkeeping Duties Maintain accurate books of account, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments. Process invoices, expense claims, and bank transactions in a timely manner. Perform bank and control account reconciliations. Assist with month-end and year-end financial procedures. Maintain accurate filing systems for financial and accounting records. Debt Collection & Credit Control Monitor debtor balances and maintain up-to-date accounts receivable ledgers. Issue sales invoices, statements, and reminders in line with company credit policies. Proactively follow up on overdue accounts via phone, email, and written correspondence. Liaise with clients to resolve billing queries and agree payment plans where necessary. Escalate unpaid debts in accordance with internal procedures. Support cashflow management by ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts. Skills & Experience Required Previous experience in a receptionist, bookkeeping, or accounts administration role. Proven experience in debt collection and credit control. Strong numerical and financial administration skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional telephone manner. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks. Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion and confidentiality A keen interest in Computer software management tool such as Bright manager for accountants would be beneficial.
