Support Worker – Community Respite Services
Location: Dundalk / Drogheda / Bettystown / Carlingford
RL Management & Consulting Agency are recruiting Support Workers on behalf of our client to join their Community Respite Services. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced support staff to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with additional needs, providing care, encouragement, and a safe space to thrive.
Role Overview
As a Support Worker, you will work as part of a team delivering person-centred care and support to children and young people with disabilities and behavioural support needs. You will be key in promoting independence, dignity, and inclusion while following individualised care and behaviour support plans.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide day-to-day support and supervision to children and young people within respite services.
* Assist with personal care, routines, recreational activities, and community participation.
* Implement care and behaviour support plans to ensure positive outcomes.
* Encourage independence, social skills, and meaningful engagement.
* Promote safeguarding, dignity, and the rights of service users at all times.
* Keep accurate records and contribute to team communication.
Requirements
* Relevant qualification (e.g. QQI Level 5 Healthcare Support, Social Care qualification, or equivalent).
* Previous experience in social care, disability, or respite services (essential).
* Full driving licence and access to a car (essential).
* Compassionate, reliable, and committed to person-centred care.
* Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Understanding of safeguarding and supporting challenging behaviour.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: €16.00-€18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 38 per week
