There is currently one permanent, whole-time Pharmaceutical Technician (Staff Grade) vacancy available in the Pharmacy Department at the Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise.
A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign for a Pharmaceutical Technician (Staff Grade) from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full-time or part-time duration may be filled.

Purpose of the Post
To assist with the provisional of a high level pharmacy service to the wards and departments in the hospitals service.
Eligibility Criteria, Qualifications and / or Experience
* Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc.
* Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:
* Possess the Pharmaceutical Technicians Diploma awarded by the University of Dublin.
* OR
(ii) Possess a Pharmacy Technicians qualification at QQI Level 6 awarded by the Dublin Institute of Technology, Athlone Institute of Technology, Letterkenny Institute of Technology or Carlow Institute of Technology.
* OR (iii) Possess the Pharmacy Services Certificate (NVQ 3) offered by the Irish Pharmaceutical Union.
* OR (iv) Are currently employed as a Pharmacy Technician in the publicly funded health service.
* OR
(v) Possess a relevant qualification at least equivalent to (ii) or (iii) above.
* Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability, (including a high standard of suitability, professional knowledge and ability), for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
* Health
* Candidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
* Character
* Candidates for and any person holding the office must be of good character.
