John Sisk & Son is seeking an experienced and driven Design Manager to join our industry-leading team based at our Citywest Head Office, with regular involvement at our high-profile Munster Project. As a Design Manager at Sisk, you will take a leading role in coordinating design activities across pre-construction and delivery phases. You'll collaborate with consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure quality, programme, and cost targets are achieved—bringing together great design and great delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and coordinate design teams, subconsultants, and design-related subcontractors
* Drive design delivery from pre-construction through execution
* Chair and minute design meetings, ensuring alignment and clarity
* Implement and uphold Sisk’s Design Management Procedures
* Provide technical input on planning, building regulations, procurement, and strategic design risks
* Lead value engineering initiatives, identifying opportunities for smarter solutions
* Mentor Design Coordinators and contribute to team development
* Support contractor proposals and employer requirements
* Ensure statutory compliance and manage interface between design and construction teams
* 5-10 years' experience in construction with strong design management exposure
* Proven track record on civil engineering infrastructure projects
* Deep understanding of client procurement routes, contract forms, and pre-construction workflows
* Strong working knowledge of planning, building regulations, CDM, and BREEAM
* Excellent planning, coordination, communication, and leadership skills
* Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction, or Design-related discipline
