Cpl are supporting a high-potential SaaS start-up in their search for a Senior Data Architect. This is a greenfield opportunity to design and deliver a scalable Data Lake using open source and modern data platforms. We're looking for an experienced Architect to lead this end-to-end. Experience in Start-Up environments is preferred but not essential.
Role
* Designing and building a greenfield data lake/lakehouse platform
* Defining the storage, processing and query architecture
* Integrating diverse data sources across the business
* Establishing data governance, metadata, lineage and access models
* Ensuring GDPR compliance, security and data quality throughout
* Translating business needs into clear, deliverable technical solutions
* Owning delivery from concept through to production
Experience
* 12-15 years of experience ideally
* Strong hands-on experience with modern data platforms (open-source and/or commercial)
* Experience with Snowflake and/or Databricks in production environments
* Solid knowledge of Trino, Spark, Flink and lakehouse table formats
* Deep understanding of data governance, metadata and access control
* Confidence working with object storage-based data architectures
* A pragmatic mindset with a track record of delivering complex platforms
* Clear communicator who can bridge technical and non-technical teams
