Job Title: Senior Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a skilled and passionate occupational therapist to lead a ground-breaking two-year project aimed at supporting Independent Living for adults with moderate intellectual disability.

The ideal candidate will have a recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy, CORU registration, and demonstrated experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities. They will also possess strong expertise in functional assessment, teaching and enabling independence skills, use of assistive technology to promote autonomy, and supporting mental health for people with intellectual disability.

The role offers the chance to shape real change in people's lives through functional assessment, independence skills teaching, meaningful engagement, assistive technology, and a truly person-centred approach.

This initiative is designed to empower adults with moderate intellectual disability to gain greater independence and achieve their personal life goals to live independently.

The key elements of the role include conducting functional assessments, developing and delivering targeted interventions, integrating assistive technology, mental health supports, and practical skills-building to enhance independence, safety, confidence, and autonomy.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication, coordination and organisational skills, ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, and a full clean driving licence.
